DPC has a growing number of small groups providing space for connection, reflection, and growth during the week.
Small group opportunities currently include a weekly “Beer and Theology” conversation group begun in 2015, a Women’s Bible Study exploring stories from scripture through art making, and a new book group is starting at the end of October 2016.
Contact Claire Armbruster if you are interested in forming a DPC Small Group.
DPC Book Group
The first title selected for our new DPC book group is Religions and Extraterrestrial Life by Vanderbilt astronomer (and friend of Pastor Mike) David Weintraub.
Making a serious case for the likely discovery of extraterrestrial life in the not-so-distant future, Weintraub explores how Christian denominations and other faith traditions have adjusted to new knowledge about the universe in the past and offers some predictions about how they/we might respond to evidence for life on other planets. The book manages to be fun, very informative, and profound all at the same time, and we certainly plan for our group to match that.
Our first meeting will be during the last week of October 2016 on the evening that works best for the most people.
Contact Joel Dark if you are interested in participating.
