Half for the Hungry training occurs every Saturday morning between January and the last weekend of April. A group of DPC members, friends and friends of friends gathers at 8:30 a.m. at various places around town to walk, stroll, jog or run a selected route. Distances increase as the event gets closer.
After the training, the group enjoys breakfast together somewhere near the end of the route.
Neither the training nor the Rock ‘N’ Roll Half Marathon on April 29 are competitions. This is fun exercise and fellowship that may aid in burning off some holiday calories. And you’ll probably make some new friends! The group is dog-friendly as well; so if your pet can handle the distance, bring her or him along.
If you’re interested in participating or have any questions, email Jim Dickson ([email protected]). He’ll put you on the distribution list so you’ll receive a midweek message with the location of the Saturday training and breakfast locations.
