An important part of effectively helping those who are experiencing poverty in our city is ensuring they have access to a range of vital services. Having necessary documentation or medication are both essential items in helping people avoid homelessness and in times of crisis.
How we help:
The Pastor’s Discretionary Fund offers non-recurring assistance to Nashville’s homeless and urban poor community to offset the costs of acquiring state IDs, driver’s licenses, birth certificates and non-opiate prescription medications.
Discretionary fund distributions are made – in person – at the church office, Monday – Wednesday, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
While there is no means testing to receive assistance, applicants must provide completed paperwork from appropriate agencies or pharmacies for all distributions. DPC keeps a file of birth certificate applications for every state but cannot act as an advocate with any agency.
