The Browsing Room Gallery at the Downtown Presbyterian Church is pleased to present Sky Lines by Nashville artist Caleb McLaughlin.
- Exhibit Title: Caleb McLaughlin:Sky Lines
- Exhibit Dates: August 4 – September 21, 2018
- Opening Reception: Saturday, August 4, 6-9pm (in coordination with the downtown art crawl and 5th Avenue of the Arts)
About the exhibit:
Sky Lines will explore the slow and ponderous light of the night sky and its relationship with the bright and frenzied city lights of downtown Nashville. While most astrophotographers try to minimize light pollution by getting as far away from the city as possible, McLaughlin’s project embraces the glow and haze of Nashville’s lights as they juxtapose against the constellations. The artist will exhibit a time lapse video from the series, as well as several long-exposure photographic prints on metallic paper, some including images of the Downtown Presbyterian Church building. The works in this exhibition are part of a larger project whose final and energetic result can be seen on the artist’s website.
About the artist:
Caleb McLaughlin is a Nashville-based videographer and photographer who explores time lapse, astrophotography and many other mediums of visual creativity. He is a highly capable drone pilot.
