Palm Sunday, March 29th: Join us for worship at 11 a.m. to join in the parade of glory and honor that spans centuries. In this Palm Sunday worship service, we’ll ground ourselves in the counter-cultural reality of faith in Jesus as we consider how God calls us to put our faith in action. It begins with sustainably sourced palms from our partnership with Eco Palms, and moves us toward a week of reflection and action in response to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
Maundy Thursday, April 2: Join us at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel as we experience a time of holy remembrance of the Last Supper and the New Commandment to love as we are loved. Maundy means “command.” Eucharist means “thanksgiving.” We will gather for a worshipful meal in the tradition of the early church (similar to a Love Feast) to honor our common union in God and to give thanks. A hearty lamb stew and a vegetarian soup will be provided. A sign-up in the Narthex will indicate other needs. This family-friendly service will include activities for children and will conclude with a tenebrae ritual of extinguishing candles in preparation for Good Friday.
Good Friday, April 3: The crucifixion of Jesus is one of the most controversial moments of his life and ministry. The severity of the cross invites intimate conversation and reflection in a way that no other event can. Church members will create space for these conversations by hosting Cottage Dinners in their homes for groups of eight. Please sign-up in the Narthex and join fellow friends to break bread together on this sacred day.
Pacem Concert, April 3: While it is not a formal worship service, the choral group, Pacem, will perform sacred meditative 16th and 17th century Lenten motets in the Sanctuary. Doors will open at 2:30 pm. Performance at 3:00 pm. This is a free concert, and a love offering will be received.
Easter Sunday, April 5: He is risen! He is risen, indeed! Join us at 9:30 a.m. for breakfast in the fellowship hall! Kids and their parents are invited to hunt easter eggs at 9:30 in the sanctuary! Worship will begin at 11 a.m. with the procession of the chalice from Woodland Presbyterian Church as a reminder that we are one church, united in Christ. Handbells will ring, and God’s people will sing, “Jesus Christ Is Risen Today, Alleluia!”
