An important part of effectively helping those who are experiencing poverty in our city is ensuring they have access to a range of vital services. Having necessary documentation or medication are both essential items in helping people avoid homelessness and in times of crisis.
Formerly the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, the Community Assistance Fund offers non-recurring assistance to Nashville’s homeless and urban poor community to offset the costs of acquiring state IDs, driver’s licenses, and birth certificates.
Discretionary fund distributions are made in person at the church office, Monday-Wednesday, 9:00-11:30 a.m.
While there is no means testing to receive assistance, applicants must provide completed paperwork from appropriate agencies or pharmacies for all distributions. DPC keeps a file of birth certificate applications for every state but cannot act as an advocate with any agency.
